Meet Glen

At 17 Glen Gerreyn was a champion athlete on track for the Olympics. Then an illness ended his sporting career inside a year.
What he did next set the pattern for everything since. He turned to community work, and was named Young Australian of the Year for Queensland for community service.
Glen has spent more than 20 years on stage in front of high school students. He's spoken in over 750 schools, and his Day of Hope seminar is the reason most principals get in touch. He holds the international Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) accreditation, has spoken at TEDx, appeared on the Today Show and Can of Worms, written for Mamamia, and been featured on ABC national radio.
He's written 5 books: Get Your Hopes Up, The HopeFULL Life, Men of Honour, Gifted for Greatness, and Who I Am. All of them are on this site.
Hope is a skill. That's the idea underneath all of it. Glen doesn't run motivational assemblies that fade by Friday. He gives students a vocabulary and a set of tools they can still use 6 months later, then he expects them to write in and tell him what they did with them. Plenty do. You can read what they wrote on the impact page.
Glen founded The HopeFULL Institute and Men of Honour, and publishes through Freedom House Publishing. He and his wife have 4 children.
